Have you been feeling crafty lately? There’s something about the shift of seasons that puts us in project mode. We love DIY crafts that channel the spirit of nature’s magnificent metamorphosis to fall.
In honor of autumn’s rich kaleidoscope of color, we’re excited to show you one of our favorite crafts – a pumpkin planter. It’s a lovely way to display festive flowers that everyone will “fall” in love with!
Materials
• Medium to large craft pumpkin (available at craft stores)
• Knife
• Coffee can or other cylinder-shaped container
• Flowers of choice
• Water
Directions
1. Carefully cut a circle around the stem of the pumpkin using the knife. Be sure the opening is wide enough to accommodate both the container and flowers.
2. Place the container inside the pumpkin and fill with water.
3. Place the bouquet of flowers into the container of water and arrange as desired.
4. Display the pumpkin planter anywhere in your home to evoke autumn’s aura. Hint: it makes a great centerpiece!
We prefer to use a craft pumpkin as it can be used for years to come. However, if you’d like a real one, completely remove the stringy flesh and seeds before placing the flowers inside.
